Victory Heights Primary School

Victory Heights Primary School (VHPS) is located in the heart of Dubai Sports City. Our school community is bursting with happy learners who are enthusiastic about exploring the world around them. Our aim is to create a fun and stimulating learning environment where every day is a magical voyage of discovery for children. Working towards our vision statement of “Nurture, Challenge, Excel”, has led to outstanding academic progress in our school.

We want to nurture responsible global citizens who are sensitive to other cultures and people. We encourage our students to respect their environment, develop a social conscience and give something back to society. In keeping with the traditions of the best British schools, we emphasize the importance of an ‘all-round’ education, especially, character development, leadership skills and the ability to be a team player.

The children at our school clearly love learning and come bounding through the gates every morning ready for new challenges of our creative curriculum. As a staff we have looked at who our children are, the experiences they have had and inspired their skills accordingly.

This year we are very proud of our “Ground to Plate” project. The concept around “Ground to Plate” is a health and wellness awareness initiative aimed at teaching our children how to grow their own food and to consider sustainability.

VHPS has partnered with Sandy Seeds Health and Awareness to achieve our “Ground to Plate” goals. Sandy Seeds is building a network of Edible School Gardens around the UAE, each one engaging our children in healthy eating, food education, entrepreneurism and most importantly, allowing children to get hands on with a Garden Project.

The “Ground to Plate” initiative coincides with the UAE’s 2021 goal to make the UAE a leader in happiness and produce an educational system that harnesses human potential through cultivating wellbeing. The initiative also complements our curriculum in food education where our children will learn to make healthy eating choices. We later hope to see the produce at our Market day and to sell it to our canteen providers and even start making our own compost in the near future.

In October, we will be busy launching “Enterprise Week”. This is an opportunity for all our children to apply their mathematics and literacy skills to their very own business plan. We also know that this will be a fabulous opportunity for the children to use their personalities and sell their products to the community.
